Join us as we talk to rising solo artist Lyn Lapid: Lyn has quickly becoming one to watch, with sold out shows in the US and UK. Not only is she our January 2024 Small Cap Top Seller (a repeat winner) she has also embarked on a solo tour promoting her latest album release "To love in the 21st Century" this past year and wrapping up this February. What was one of your favorite stops on the tour? 

Lyn:  I’d have to say Cleveland. I wasn’t expecting Cleveland to be such a loud and energetic crowd. I always feed off the energy of a crowd and Cleveland was by far the most energetic. 

What kind of music did you listen to when you were creating this album?

Lyn:  I was listening to a lot of indie pop and alternative pop. I remembering listening to a good amount of Dayglow and d4vd.

What does a typical day look like for you while on tour for a show day? Any pre-show routine?

Lyn:  I wake up a little bit before call time. I nebulize and eat right when I get to the venue before soundcheck. Then I warm up right before I do the meet and greet. I try to stay warmed up between when doors open and my set time. Sometimes I take a quick nap before I go on stage if needed!

Who would you like to collaborate with and why?

Lyn: I’d love to collaborate with Sabrina Carpenter. Her latest album has been on repeat for me since it came out and I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from her as a songwriter and performer.

Is there any particular merch item that you gravitate to when going to see a show?

Lyn:  I gravitate towards posters and sweaters. I can never have too many concert hoodies.

Dream merch item you would love to offer?

Lyn: I would loveeee to offer a Plushie! My friend who designs all my merch and I have been dreaming of making a Lyn Lapid Plushie. Hopefully next tour!

Is there any artistic decade that calls your attention when creating merch?

Lyn:  Honestly the vibe of my merch reminds me of 90s-2010 cartoons. Whimsical, nostalgic, and comforting is the kind of vibe I go for.

What is the weirdest or funniest question you’ve ever been asked in an interview?

Lyn:  Someone once asked me to describe my personality by choosing a type of boat that represents my personality. (I said Kayak because I’m more laid back and the opposite of grandiose water travel).
